Solflower's SF 110 is a high-performance SBus-VME interconnect. It isdesigned to provide VME connectivity to SPARCstations.The SF 110 is an SBus to VMEbus adapter which allows existing 6U formfactor VME modules to be used with the SBus of the SPARCstation seriesfrom Sun Microsystems. The SF 110 makes use of attractiveprice/performance of the SPARCstation series by interfacing existing VME-based hardware and software through its SBus-VMEbus connection. The SF110 has an advantage of providing high data transfer throughput and iscapable of handling Master/Slave on both Sbus and VMEbus.The SF 110 device driver is fully compatible with standard Sun-4 VMEdevice drivers. It allows existing software to be successfully used inconjunction with the power of the SPARCstation series, eliminating theneed to develop new device drivers.The SF 110 series is packaged in a 6-slot upright or 4-slot horizontalVME enclosure complete with a 250-watt power supply and low noise fans.It comes with an SBus card that plugs into a single master/slave SBusslot inside the SPARCstation series and an 18-inch to 36-inch cableextension to the enclosure. The Solflower VME board populates one slotof the enclosure and the user can populate any mix of 6U form factor VMEperipheral controllers in the additional slots.
